The Take 40 app was one of the very first licensed mobile music video platforms in Australia. With extensive content from all the major labels, the app immediately captured the attention of music lovers across the country - quickly earning a 5 star rating and being named by iTunes in the top 5 entertainment apps of 2011. The Take 40 app, developed by MCM Media in partnership with Igloo and Movideo (part of the MCM Entertainment Group), enabled users to create playlists from a catalogue of over 11,000 music videos, stream exclusive live performances including the Take 40 Live Lounge and MCM Media’s Live at the Chapel plus view engaging artist and celebrity interviews filmed in the Take 40 studios.

Seeing the opportunity to connect with a loyal music loving, data hungry audience, MCM Media's Greg Tremain secured Telstra as the exclusive launch partner prior to other brands including Johnson and Johnson's Clean and Clear also coming on board. This partnership offered Telstra the opportunity to integrate with all on air and online marketing plus engage a music loving young audience with highly targeted pre-roll and display placements. Importantly, the partnership also offered Telstra the opportunity to schedule carrier based data offers to attract new business and reward existing customers.
