Live Event & Social Experiment

This campaign was certainly one of the first examples of social influencer marketing. It was 2011 and the live event and social amplification strategy developed by Greg and his team at MCM Media was a key driver behind the launch success of Slide, a new locally produced drama for Fox8. Fox 8 wanted to generate excitement around the launch but needed the messaging to be wrapped in a way that would resonate with its extremely social media savvy young target. 

 

 The entire campaign was delivered on a 3 week lead time and resulted in one of the hottest launch events of the year. The event featured meet and greets with the Slide cast, live entertainment acts and a performance from Justice Crew. 250 of the country’s top social influencers won an invite to the exclusive event and were set a challenge to see who could generate the highest level of engagement on their socials, using content from the launch event, to win $5,000 cash.
